Being a youth athletic coach is a great way of volunteering and passing on your knowledge and love of the game. It requires time, patience, organization, and a healthy balance between the deisre to win and the desire to teach.
If you are new to coaching, this area of the website is designed to provide you with information in the form of video drills, documentation, and links to help you run a better practice and teach the players in the proper manner.
If you are an experienced coach, this is also a useful area to learn something new or find something that you can add to your practice or teaching routine.
If you are interested in volunteering to be a coach, you will need to fill out a coaching application (in the Links tab) and submit it to the league. Coaching applications must be submitted by February 1, 2010 for all leagues except Tee Ball.
Typically, there is one Manager and up to two "official" Coaches for each team. The manager and coach selection process is as follows...
Applications are submitted to the SWLL.
The applications are reviewed by the League Directors and the

League Vice President.
Applicants are evaluated on previous coaching experience, prior

history on incidents, and level of volunteer commitment to the SWLL.
Final manager and coach assignments are typically made by

February 15th of each year.
All managers and coaches are expected to attend SWLL general and league meetings on a regular basis. Attendance at league meetings is required by a representative (usually a coach or manager) from each team.
