2012 Spring Registration Fees

The South Windsor Little League is committed to providing an excellent sporting experience for your child while making sure it is affordable and a good value.  Our fees are very affordable when compared to other recreational sports in town. 

Tee Ball          $55 per child  for ages  4 - 6 ,  born 5/1/05 to 12/31/07              
         (4 year olds must turn 5 by 12/31/12 to play in 2012 and must remain in Tee ball for 2 years)

Rookie                   $85 per child  for ages   6 - 7,  born 5/1/04  to  4/30/06

Farm        $85 per child  for ages   7 - 8,  born 5/1/03  to  4/30/05

Minors  (A, AA) /
Majors:     $100 per childfor ages  8 - 12,  born 5/1/99  to  4/30/04     

Babe Ruth Juniors      $100 per child       for ages 13 - 15,  born 5/1/96  to  4/30/99

Babe Ruth Seniors      $100 per child       for ages 16 - 18 and HS players,  born 5/1/93  to  4/30/98

Softball
Minors / Majors     $100 per child       for ages  7 - 12,  born 1/1/99  to  12/31/04

Softball Seniors            $100 per child       for ages 13 - 16,  born 1/1/95  to  12/31/98

Challenger  no feeall ages

Please note that the maximum family expense is $230.00.  South Windsor Little League offers reduced rates for families with parents in active military duty.  Please contact the Registration Director for more information.

Manager/Coach Applications

If you are interested in coaching for the spring 2012 season, please fill out an application form and turn it in at a league meeting, mail it to the address on the form or email it to kcmcmanus@cox.net.  You must fill out a new form each year. 
Baseball & Softball Registration Spring 2012


                             On-line registration for the 2012 Spring Season is NOW OPEN. 


                                     Walk-in registration will be held at the South Windsor Community Center on the following dates and times: 

                                         Friday    January 20, 2012 6:00 - 9:00 pm
                                        SaturdayJanuary 21, 2012noon - 3:00 pm


                                     If you are registering a player for the first time at the walk-in, please bring a copy of their birth certificate.  For new players registering online,
                                     copies of birth certificates can be mailed to the registration director or given to the player's coach at the first practice.


                             All Major league Baseball registrations  MUST be received by February 25, 2012 to avoid a $10 late fee.

If you can't make the walk-in registration, and you don't want to register online, you can fill out a blank registration form and mail it to the address on the form. 


Volunteer Forms

If you are interested in volunteering for the spring 2012 season, you must fill out a volunteer form.  This applies to team parents, practice help, umpiring, field maintenance, opening day help, etc.  Please fill out and turn the form in at a league meeting, mail it to the address on the form or email it to kcmcmanus@cox.net.  You must fill out a new form each year. 
Youth Umpire Forms `

If you are under 18 years old and are interested in umpiring, please fill out the youth umpire form.  You can fill one out at the walk-in registrations in January, mail it to the address on the form or email it to kcmcmanus@cox.net.   
Division and Level Structure

This is a synopsis of the requirements of each league and division.  More detailed information can be found under the Baseball, Softball and Babe Ruth tabs, and then each specific division within.

Level placement 
   For Tee Ball, rookie and farm levels :  determined by age and years at current level.
   For minor/major league baseball/softball :  determined by age and tryouts.

   Tee Ball :  players who are 5 or 6 as of April 30, 2012
                 *Note:  4 year olds who will be 5 by December 31, 2012 are also eligible.

   Baseball :  age as of April 30, 2012
   Softball :   age as of December 31, 2011

TEE BALL Divsion :   For 4, 5 and 6 year olds
      * 4 year olds will remain in Tee Ball level for 2 years before moving to Rookie
    Games are usually on Saturday mornings.
    Primarily use a batting tee for hitting.

BASEBALL Division :  For 6 to 18 year olds
   Games are weeknights and on weekends at all levels.

  Levels:
  •Rookie :  Ages 6 & 7,  Coaches pitch 
  •Farm :  Ages 7 & 8,  Coaches pitch until late season games then players pitch
  •Minors/Majors : Ages  8 to 11 (Minors A & AA)   Ages 9 to 12 (Majors),  Players pitch
        * Tryouts held for 8 and 9 year olds for team placement, must tryout each year
        * Major league tryouts are not required for 9 year olds, those who wish to tryout
           should indicate so at registration time    
        * All 10, 11 and 12 year olds not already on a major league team are required to tryout
        * All 12 year olds play in the majors  
  •Babe Ruth Juniors :  Ages 13 to 15
        * All 13 year old players are required to tryout
        * All 14 and 15 year olds not already on a team are required to tryout
  •Babe Ruth Seniors :  Ages 14 to 18,  Summer program
        * Players ages 14 & 15 who play on a high school team are only eligible to play
           in Babe Ruth Seniors (not Juniors)

SOFTBALL Division :   For 7 to 16 year old girls
   Games are on weeknights and on weekends.

  Levels:  Players pitch at all levels.
  •Minors/Majors : Ages 7 to 11 (Minors)   Ages 9 to 12 (Majors)
        * All 7 to 12 year olds not already on a major league team are required to tryout
        * All 12 year olds play in the majors  
  •Senior : Ages 13 to 16

CHALLENGER Division :   For girls & boys ages 6 to 18 (or stilll in high school or equivalent)
   Games are mostly on weekends, with a few weeknight away games during the season.
              
   Play Challenger teams from surrounding towns.
   Fee for participation is waived, but donations to SWLL are accepted.
