Umpires are used for all Minor A, Minor AA, Major League, Babe Ruth and Softball leagues. Anyone age 12 or older is eligible to begin umpiring games. It's a great way for veteran players in the SWLL program to participate in a different way and to become more familiar with the rules of the game.
To find out more information about specific aspects of umpiring, please go to the appropriate tab on the left.
If you are interested in being an umpire for the 2010 season, you will need to fill out a form (under the Forms tab) and submit it to the Chief Umpire, Sam Gossett. You need to fill out a form each year, regardless of if you have been an umpire in the past.
Umpires under age 18 will be paid for each game that they officiate, on a pay scale that is based on their age and previous umpiring experience.
